Mutual back-scratching: Inday Espina Varona snubs #LeniLeaks then vouches for erroneous "journalism"! @indayevarona

What's the difference between fake news and biased news? The other day, "journalist" Ellen Tordesillas posted about how Leni Robredo May be ousted by way of the Supreme Court ruling on the petition filed by now Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on the Comelec ruling extending the deadline of the filing of SOCE's as an accomodation for the Liberal Party. Alvarez contends that the Comelec doesn't have the power to do since it's not specified in the Omnibus Election Code. Tordesillas hinted that an adverse ruling would benefit Marcos as the Duterte administration would install him in Robredo's stead.

However, it's clear in the constitutional order of succession that in the event of a vacancy in the office of the Vice-President, the President will nominate either a Senator or a Congressman to replace the duly elected Vice-President. The nomination would have to be ratified by a 3/4 vote of both houses of Congress to be valid.

Since Marcos ran for Vice-President, he has gone back to being a private citizen after losing the vote to Robredo. The only way Marcos can ascend to the Vice-Presidency is if the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal rules in favor of his protest against Robredo.

Clearly, there was an intent on Tordesillas' part to deceive the public and draw sympathy to the plight of Robredo. But it is ironic that another journalist, Inday Espina Varona, vouches for the credibility of her colleague when it's clear her story is erroneous. Varona brushed off calls for her to write about the #lekneeleaks controversy last week by claiming it had no basis in fact and was unverifiable. Clearly the fix is in among "journalists" who have become nothing but mercenaries.
